Lou Holtz began coaching at Notre Dame my junior year there. I was just named the managing editor of the yearbook and decided to use my clout to finagle an interview with the new coach. (My subpar write up pictured 🙂) I still have the tape of it somewhere. After that 20 minute sit-down, before the National Championship and the legacy that he created, I knew that big things were coming from this little man. What a gift he was to the University, to the Catholic faith and to world. May he rest in God's peace. Thanks Coach.

A salute to the workers in the barns, on the farms, at the track. The ones who put in the time, sweat and expertise to care for and bring up our equine athletes. 🙏❤️

Second Stride opened the doors of its newly renovated 90+ year old barn last evening. The project was funded by and supervised by the Carstanjen family. Ambassador horses Warriors Club and Twinspired along with Tornadic were introduced to their new digs and for the first time were able to touch noses through their adjoining windows. (So Ritz Carlton) A beautiful and bright improvement, I was thrilled to be part of the recording of it all! @secondstride

My niece, a soon to be college sophomore and sister in all things Hello Kitty and photography- did some fine work recently shooting some of our beloved Steelers in the annual Celebrity Softball Game to benefit Cameron Heyward's foundation and @theheywardhouse. As a lifelong Toby Keith fan, I'm sorry Render Judgment didn't do better in the big race. However the story was wonderful and it was great to see his family enjoy the ride. Just like for many others, Toby provided the soundtrack to some very happy days in my life. Hoping RJ has some good racing days ahead! #kentuckyderby #renderjudgment
